Tuesday afternoon, June 26th, I was admitted to the hospital for labor induction. It seems that Lauren needed a little persuasion to enter this world. We have been so anxious to meet her! My blood pressure was a little higher than normal plus my legs and feet have been so swollen for weeks. I am 40 weeks plus 4 days pregnant - whew - it is time for some relief!
My parents arrived shortly after admission.
Lance's parents and sister arrived around 11pm Tuesday evening.
Labor induction went slow and smooth through the night on into Wednesday morning. The epidural was started around 9:30am with some difficulty. During contractions, Lauren's heart rate started getting slower than normal due to cord compression. Everything was under control, but I was a bit anxious! Labor progressed very rapidly. After pushing only 20 minutes, Baby Lauren arrived June 27, 2007 at 12:26 pm.
