My First Cracker - posted by Lauren

Last night, mommy, daddy, Grammy and Papa took me to eat at Pete's steakhouse. They tried to place me in a high chair, but I did not like it at all! So Papa gave me a cracker - he calls it a waverly wafer - to try to settle me down. Well IT WORKED! Yum-O! That salty, buttery, crisp cracker is just the best thing I have ever tasted. It fit into my hand nicely - especially since mommy tells me that my pincer grasp has now developed. I was even able to try out my two new bottom teeth. Everyone was able to eat in peace! Papa fed me about five crackers - but don't get too upset - at least four of those crackers ended up on the floor. So, what's next on the menu? How about some of that steak I saw on their plates?!

Photos

These ruffled panties could not be cuter! Lance has a saying, "Girls spend the first part of their lives trying to accent their bottom, while spending the second part of their lives trying to hide their bottom!"

Here are a couple of photos with Lauren's new dress that I made.

Dress for Lauren

I made this dress for Lauren's six month photos. I plan to frame this one along with the one I made for her birth. This dress is made from pink Dupioni Silk. Dupioni means duplo or double. This type of silk is made when two silk worms weave their cocoons together. The fibers result in a bumpy fabric texture. I added pin tucks and white bullion embroidered roses with white silk ribbon accents to the gathered sleeves. Whew - the bullion roses took forever, but they were worth it and I am pleased. I'm getting out the smocking pleater for her 9 month dress!

Rocking Horse for Lauren

The Minerick family visited and brought Lauren a Rocking Horse donned with a red bow. Lauren immediately grabbed on to horsey's ears. She still needs help with balance - but she will be rocking and rolling soon enough!

Madison is just waking up from her nap and is a little shy.
Lauren could not take her eyes off of Madison - who is nine months older than Lauren. Madison was interested in playing with new toys!

Inspector Swan

Mom and Dad are adding an indoor swimming pool to their house. Buster - one of mom's black swans - is very territorial. Last week, Buster inspected the new construction.

What a view! Buster has the life, here. Swimming in a pool with a lake in the background!

Daddy Makes Messes, BIG Messes - by Lauren

Don't look at me! Daddy made this mess! Mommy was cleaning the kitchen while she asked daddy to spoon feed me oatmeal and prunes tonight - I tried to tell her it was a mistake - but my words just would not come out right. Daddy misses my mouth. He gets more prunes on my face and bib than inside my mouth. Mommy tried to inservice daddy on proper spoon feeding technique. By that time, I had enough!
I WANT MY BOTTLE!

A note from the mommy - Don't call Child Protection Services just yet. The second we picked her up, she was laughing!

Pretty in Pink - by Lauren

Mommy says that I look pretty in pink. Well, my mom says that I look pretty in anything. Mommy uses any excuse for me to wear this cute hat that Mrs. Courtney hand knitted for me. She says that it matches perfectly with this pink outfit. I get the most smiles when I wear this hat.

Today I learned about fruits - is this an orange or a grapefruit? Oh well, I can't even eat it yet, so don't ask me to remember.

Two Teeth!

Every morning we wake up to check out Lauren's new teeth. We are amazed to see how much these sharp little slivers grow in just a day's time. Here are some better pics of her pearly whites.

Veggie Tales are THE BEST!

Yes, I know . . . "they" say a child should not be placed in front of a television before age two. Who are "they"?! "They" must have round the clock nannys. Well, the Stewart household does not have round the clock nannys. So, today, Lauren sat in front of the TV to watch Veggie Tales. She was fussy in her jumparoo and we still had a bit of cleaning to do. So we inserted a Veggie Tales dvd. In this episode, Lauren learned the importance of not spreading rumors. How neat it was for us to see her zoned into the Veggie Tales dvd for the entire 30 minutes!! Thank goodness I already purchased a 23 dvd set of these family friendly cartoons.

Our Family Christmas Card

I did not have time to send out baby announcements for Lauren after she was born. So we were proud to send a family photo for this year's Christmas cards. I hope each of you had a wonderful Christmas!
